Great Jones was founded in 2018 in New York City by Sierra Tishgart, a James Beard Award–winning food editor, and Maddy Moelis, a start-up veteran from Warby Parker and Zola. The two identified a gap between heritage cookware brands, such as Le Creuset and All-Clad, which felt intimidating and expensive, and cheaper alternatives that lacked style or durability.
