Crash Baggage
Since 2013 : The Art of Traveling Without Caring
Founded in 2013 in Mira, Venice, by Francesco Pavia, Crash Baggage began as a radical idea: what if luggage was already dented before your first trip? Watching travelers obsess over every scratch and scuff, Francesco turned frustration into innovation. He literally hammered prototypes to create a look that made damage desirable.
It was a bold, rebellious stance that redefined what luggage could be, less precious, more personal. With roots in the luggage industry and experience in both China and Italy alongside his father, Francesco launched not just a brand, but a statement: style begins where perfection ends.
About Crash baggage
Crash Baggage doesn’t see itself as just a luggage company. It’s a design-led, emotion-first brand that exists outside the bounds of traditional travel gear. Its message is loud and clear: “Handle Without Care.”
Every pre-dented suitcase invites you to let go. Embrace the journey, not the worry. No need to baby your bag at baggage claim. Each dent is a design, each scratch a souvenir. This isn’t about flawless travel. It’s about fearless travel.
Products
Icon Collection : The original and most recognizable series featuring polycarbonate hard shells, bold matte or glossy finishes, and signature dents across cabin to trunk sizes.
Lunar, Stripe, and Beyond: These collections build on the original idea with different textures, finishes, and features, such as pneumatic wheels (Lunar) for even smoother rolling.
Beyond Suitcases
Crash Baggage has expanded its world with stylish soft bags, weekenders, backpacks, and utilitarian accessories like the Hard Tote and Mesh Backpack. All designed with that same casual-cool, dent-loving DNA.
Materials & Design
Most models are crafted from high-durability polycarbonate (with some ABS in select lines), offering a tough yet lightweight shell. Interiors are fitted with TSA locks, smooth spinner wheels, lined compartments, and practical layouts—form doesn’t fight function here.
Why Crash Baggage
At its core, Crash Baggage celebrates imperfection. Every suitcase arrives already “flawed,” so you don’t have to fear the first dent. It’s already there.
The brand deliberately entered concept stores and fashion boutiques rather than travel retailers, targeting those who care more about aesthetics than itinerary. With a design language rooted in Italian irreverence and a product that’s as much about self-expression as utility, Crash Baggage is for travelers who don't just go places, but go boldly.
Francesco Pavia puts it best: “We sell to people who like us.”
Brand Highlights
Fashion Debut
Crash Baggage first turned heads at Pitti Uomo in 2013, grabbing attention from style insiders and media alike. The brand’s unique visual identity quickly made it a favorite in the design-meets-travel space.
Creative Collaborations
From the space-age Lunar collection to the playful “I Have a Crash on You” collaboration with fashion house MSGM, Crash Baggage continues to merge design, art, and travel in unexpected ways.
Global Reach
By 2022, the brand had opened a second HQ in China to support rapid growth across Asia. Today, Crash Baggage is stocked in countries such as Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and even Kazakhstan, and is available in both standalone boutiques and fashion-forward concept stores.
Sustainability & Ethics
Crash Baggage products are built to last, and that longevity is currently their main sustainability pitch. Most shells are made of virgin polycarbonate, with some use of ABS plastics, materials chosen for resilience rather than recyclability.
While the brand uses no animal-derived materials and earns positive marks in cruelty-free categories, it falls short in broader sustainability efforts. It currently holds a “Not Good Enough” rating from Good On You, citing limited use of eco-materials and minimal transparency regarding supply chains and emissions reduction.
where to find
Crash Baggage’s full range is available at crashbaggage.com, offering global shipping with multi-currency support.
The brand partners with design-focused and fashion-forward stores like Mytheresa, Clothbase, and Galeries Lafayette. Its placement in concept and lifestyle boutiques reinforces its image as a travel accessory for the aesthetically minded.
