Comme Si
since 2019 : Elevating the Everyday Through Impeccable Detail
Comme Si was founded in 2019 in Brooklyn by Jenni Lee, a Korean-American creative with a background in marketing and PR, including work at Harry’s. Growing up in Arizona and traveling frequently, Lee developed a keen eye for subtle, refined style and became fascinated by how something as small as a sock could transform the overall feel of an outfit.
Her inspiration came from frustration. She could not find socks that met her standards: thin yet durable, elegant but functional, made with luxurious materials, and crafted ethically. The market was saturated with either novelty designs or athletic basics. At the same time, the kind of understated, high-quality socks she admired in Korea and Italy were nearly impossible to find in the U.S. Determined to fill this gap, she began cold-emailing factories and, when responses lagged, flew to Italy with her husband to meet potential partners in person. There she found family-run mills in Northern Italy capable of working with the delicate fibres she envisioned and committed to ethical production.
What They Make: Elevated Essentials for Modern Dressing
Comme Si began as a luxury sock label and has gradually expanded into loungewear and understated wardrobe basics. Their core range includes dress and trouser socks in various heights, from ankle to crew to knee, crafted from Egyptian cotton, silk, cashmere, merino wool, and Mongolian cashmere blends. The designs are visually minimal yet carefully engineered for comfort and fit, with ribbing that flatters the leg, breathable weaves, and refined elasticity.
The brand has also launched Comme Si Sport, a new technical line of performance socks designed for activities such as running, hiking, cycling, skiing, tennis, and pilates. This collection maintains the same minimalist aesthetic while incorporating functional features such as moisture management, thermal control, and precise compression zones. Alongside these, Comme Si offers boxers and relaxed loungewear that carry their signature emphasis on fine materials and tailored simplicity.
Materials, Craftsmanship, and Care
Each piece is made with a level of precision rarely seen in everyday accessories. Production takes place in OEKO-TEX® and REACH-certified factories in Northern Italy, ensuring strict safety standards, fair wages, and responsible practices. Many socks proudly carry the coveted "Made in Italy" label, benefiting from generations of textile craftsmanship.
The materials themselves demand care. Silk and cashmere styles are delicate and recommended for light wear, especially when paired with shoes that minimize friction. They should be hand-washed in cold water, dried flat, and kept away from fabric softeners or tumble dryers. This care ritual reflects Comme Si’s ethos: that luxury requires mindfulness, and even small wardrobe pieces deserve reverence.
Philosophy: Luxury in the Small Things
Comme Si treats the sock as an accessory, not an afterthought. The brand is built around the idea that dressing is a ritual, and that even the smallest elements should carry intention. It appeals to people who curate their wardrobes with conscious consideration, seeking a balance of quality, comfort, and aesthetics.
Their approach is rooted in restraint. Rather than chasing seasonal trends, Comme Si focuses on timeless neutrals, subtle accent tones, enduring materials, and consistent design. Ethics are equally central, from choosing certified materials to maintaining fair labor practices at partner factories. Even the launch of Comme Si Sport followed this philosophy, emerging not from trend-chasing but from genuine customer demand and extensive prototyping.
Recent Moves and Cultural Recognition
In 2025, Comme Si unveiled Comme Si Sport, launching it through a pop-up at the luxury Stanglwirt resort in Austria, where customers could experience the socks during skiing, hiking, and cycling sessions. The line, priced around $35 to $40, marked a thoughtful expansion into performance wear without diluting the brand’s refined aesthetic.
The brand has been profiled in Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, and Forbes, where reviewers consistently praise the buttery-soft hand feel, refined color palette, and balance of function and beauty. This media attention has helped cement Comme Si as a quiet disruptor in the luxury basics space.
